Getting to our galleries…

We encourage all visitors to use public transportation, especially now that the MBTA Green Line Extension is up and running. See galleries, and closest “T” stations, on the embedded map below, or use the MBTA’s handy Trip Planner. In addition to light rail, our galleries are served by several MBTA bus routes:
Brickbottom: 80, 87, 88; 86 & 91 | Washington St: 86, 87 | Nave: 87, 88, 89

If circumstances require that you drive, be aware that our galleries do not have dedicated off-street visitor parking. Parking throughout Somerville is a challenge, but if you drive a lot you’re likely used to that! We can tell you this:

At Brickbottom, park for free on Linwood St or Chestnut St (or further up where the same street is inexplicably called Joy St). DO NOT PARK ON FITCHBURG ST (including in spots along the front of the Brickbottom building) or in the small lot at the corner of Fitchburg & Chestnut — that is all reserved parking and you will be towed.

Washington St gallery has a small lot behind the building with several spots available to visitors during the Sept 9 opening. There’s also free parking along Washington St. If you park closer to Union Square at a metered spot, know that meters go until 8pm.

At the Nave, some street parking is available along Powderhouse Boulevard and Curtis St. Note that on Sundays, resident-sticker restrictions do not apply, and meters are free. We’re checking on the status of a nearby lot which may be available on weekends by the time the Festival opens.
