Back by popular demand! Join photographer, educator, and 4-time Somerville Toy Camera Festival exhibiting artist Bill Franson for a hands-on lo-fi photography workshop on the streets of Somerville.
Bring your lo-fi camera (Holga, Diana, film point&shoot, etc) and your choice of color or b&w film.* We'll learn a bit about "toy camera" history and aesthetics before setting out on a shooting adventure, where Bill will share plenty of tips for getting the best photos from the humblest of photo "gear."
* Not sure what film to bring? Color or black & white is entirely your choice, but film speed (ISO/ASA) is a little dependent on the weather.
- For bright/sunny days, you'll get the best results with a lower ISO -- 100 or 160.
- For overcast days, go with a higher ISO -- 400 or 800.
If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to shoot us an email before the event!
This event is free but registration is required to hold your spot.
