Walk-in Camera!

  • Griffin Museum of Photography 67 Shore Road Winchester, MA, 01890 United States

The Somerville Toy Camera Festival is thrilled to partner with artist Marian Roth and the Griffin Museum of Photography on a room-sized camera obscura that will be installed at the Griffin for the duration of the Festival and open to the public during regular museum hours (Tues-Sun 12-4pm).

On September 8, from 12-2pm, Marian Roth will be onsite at the Griffin installing the camera obscura. The installation is open to the public, and will provide an opportunity to meet the artist and learn about how camera obscura and smaller pinhole cameras work.

See the Facebook Event page for this event.

Listen to a PRX story about the walk-in camera Roth set up in a derelict hot dog stand on a Provincetown beach a few years ago.

Related Events: The Griffin Museum will host an artist talk with Roth on Thursday, Sept 15. See separate event listing (the talk is free but requires a reservation). A selection of Roth's work will also be on view at the Griffin from Sept 8 thru October 2.
